Death Knights are a terrifying force on the battlefield, commanding both acute martial prowess as well as a mastery over necromantic magic. The first Death Knights were created by Ner'zhul, trapped within the frozen throne, and were made up of fallen warriors and paladins. The first Death Knight of Ner'zhul was Arthas Menethil, the future Lich King himself.
